Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a mixed family. The mother of her child is English while her father is Nigerian. She was born in the South London Council Estate, and then was a student at The Brit School aged 14. She attended an academy called the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned an acting BA. She performed in various performances on stage during her college days, such as the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career in the movie Storm Damage. She has appeared as guest on Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film appearance was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. In the wake of that film's success, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as appearing in the six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside playing Ollie. She was Bambi on The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also appeared on the comedy How to Lose Friends and Alienate people (2008). She was also as a character in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path written directed by David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut with The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes at The CW, and was eventually cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama series was cast for her as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe starred as a regular character on the drama series of Revenge on ABC for two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she would be leaving the series following one guest appearance on the initial episode of season three. The actress played Tituba in the TV series Salem in 2014 until 2016. Madekwe married her long-time lover, Iddo. Alongside Secret Diary of a Call Girl They have also collaborated in tandem on Salem and he had an appearance with her on that show.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for the Gemini Award, is a member of a large Hamilton family. Her four older brothers were also in the family including twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley's sports brothers played baseball in summer and hockey in the winter. Ashley didn't walk, instead she danced. When she was two and half, she found Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley was a competitive dancer across all major divisions up until her graduation from high school. She was a competitor in ballet, tap, jazz and pointe, as well as acrobatics. She won the top soloist at each of the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
